Happy Summer Days of August & Aloha Friday

Hope your summer days have been filled with family, friends and fun, as have ours! Sometimes Life gets in the way of life. . . know what I mean??!! Trying to get back into the swing of things before Fall arrives!! AND. . .It's ALOHA FRIDAY TOO! (Click here or head on over to An Island Life for more Aloha Friday!)

What is your favorite quote? PLEASE leave a comment and join the fun!

Please enjoy my favorite Quote of the day that I found over at "A Five Minute Vacation":

"............I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be compassionate. It is, above all, to matter, to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all." ~ Leo Rosten

This photo was taken at Chick and Ruth's Deli in Annapolis, MD.(And is posted on their website.)
For many years they have carried on a tradition ~ Every morning at 8:30am (9:30am on Sat and Sun) a voice comes over the speaker and EVERYONE there rises and recites the Pledge of Allegiance! It was an amazing thing to be a part of!
Kudos to "Chick and Ruth's" for STANDING for something. . .for making a difference and believing in traditions!!

Thanks for stopping by,I'm pleased you love the quote. I have Chuck and Ruth's deli on my visit list when we get to the East Coast this next spring.
thanks for the tip. As for our summer, 38th day in a row over 100 degrees. Needless to say,we're not out and about much.

I like the quote. I often wish there was more national pride here in Australia. But then again when some of our countrymen have been forbidden to fly our flag because it upsets migrant neighbours ...?
Chuck and Ruth's Deli looks like a great place to visit.

Thanks for posting a comment on my blog! I appreciate that! I love the quote you included in this post... I collect inspiring quotes like this and write them down in a special notebook. This one is probably going in my notebook too, so that I'll remember it!

Nice quote, glad to see you're gearing up, though I hate to think about fall........sigh, I love summer and hate what comes after fall.

Was just in Annapolis 2 days ago for a little touring. Too bad I didn't know about this place, would have checked it out; though we were there in the afternoon not in the am.
