I have: A Hibiscus that decided to start blooming again after nothing since August?! And the Lantana keeps growing too! (We live in Southeastern Virginia, so don't know how long they will last, but we will enjoy them till the end! ~ Pic below!) :-)

For many years they have carried on a tradition ~ Every morning at 8:30am (9:30am on Sat and Sun) a voice comes over the speaker and EVERYONE there rises and recites the Pledge of Allegiance! It was an amazing thing to be a part of! Kudos to "Chick and Ruth's" for STANDING for something. . .for making a difference and believing in traditions!!

Did you know. . . .March is also "Nat'l Nutrition Month" and this year's theme is "Eat Right With Color"!!

Initiated in 1973, "Nat'l Nutrition Week" became a month long observance in 1980 in response to growing public interest in nutrition ~ A great reminder for EVERYONE to get a colorful variety of fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins and dairy ~ every day!!!

"SHOE REVOLT" is giving a shout-out!! Are you a "Shoeista"?? Help this new for-profit company raise $$$ to help "kick human trafficking of young girls to the curb"~ by donating new and lightly used women's shoes for resale!!!

According to Ateba Crocker (founder of Shoe Revolt) & Meg Rayford (Chief Shoe Raiser) . . . . . . "Profits will be used to directly fund transitional housing, to create scholarship opportunities, and to provide mentoring and support for human trafficking victims. We'll give new life to these shoes that will, in turn, help give new life to so many young girls. Shoe Revolt will tear down symbols of inhumanity and build them back up into symbols of freedom, creativity, and empowerment!"

Half the proceeds will also go to "GEMS" ("Girls Educational & Mentoring Services") ~ an organization that helps girls rescued from the commercial sex trade. March is 'National Women's History Month!!

A Resolution was passed in 1987 to expand the celebration of Women's History to the entire month of March & has been approved every year since then!

The theme for 2010, which is also the 30th Anniversary celebration, is "Writing Women Back into History". . . . . . "It often seems that the history of women is written in invisible ink. Even when recognized in their own times, women are frequently left out of the history books. To honor the 2010 theme, the National Women's History Project is highlighting pivotal themes from previous years. Each of these past themes recognizes a different aspect of women’s achievements, from ecology to art, and from sports to politics.

Now, more than ever, the work of the NWHP needs to continue and expand. Each new generation needs to draw information and inspiration from the last.So, please join the NWHP this month in recognizing the importance of women in history!!

Lots of uproar about the NEW (?????) recommendations coming out this week regarding Mammograms ~ As well there should be! Wait until your 50?? Are you kidding me??!! Tell that to all the people that belong to a fabulous organization here in Virginia called "BEYOND BOOBS"!!

(My answer would be: I try to power walk 4x a week. I also live near my gym/sports club, so it is easy for me to get to some classes - I like to do muscle conditioning 2x/week and Yoga/Pilates 2x/week ~ As I get older, think these classes are important too!)

Wow ~ I don't know where the week went??!! One gorgeous day on Wed. with temps close to 80* so I did get out there on the golf course! (Even us girlies that work at home have to take breaks now and then!) Ahhh. . . . The start of my weekend ~ I always look forward to it!! Since I knew what my questions was going to be all week, I sorta had my answer planned (which was crying from laughing so hard from a video someone sent me on a budweiser commercial)But, things change. But things change and my new answer is ~ Yesterday I found out a good friend of mine has breast cancer again, so the tears came freely! (Please keep her in your prayers! I am a cancer survivor also, so I know how scary this is for her!)

Did you know that March is Women's History Month?? I didn't! (Thanks to Marybeth over at Blogmania, I have been able to find tons of fun facts and information on this subject!) From WomensHistoryMonth.gov ~ "The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in paying tribute to the generations of women whose commitment to nature and the planet have proved invaluable to society."

A Resolution was passed in 1987 to expand the celebration of Women's History to the entire month of March & has been approved every year since then! This year's theme honors women who have taken the lead in the environmental or “green” movement. Here's to all the amazing women we know!!

Just returned from sunny California ~ Ahhhhh. . . . miss those warm sunny days already! Nothing too Chic for you today, but I'm loving these awesome Tidy Trax!
